decided yet? Wait! Let we make you even more puzzled which one to choose. lol

Now it’s time to the so-called journey to the east…..sit
back, relax and enjoy the journey. Situated on the northern east of Malaysia,
Perhentian Island is a must visit island in this country. In Malay, Perhentian
Island could be translated as “a place to stop by” and it definitely deserved
the name.

8.00 am
Ringgg.. rinngg. rings. The alarm clock rings and bring us
back from our deep sleep. Today is the DAY! We woke up early to prepare ourselves for the
journey. Spending last night at one of our friends house we were able to wash
away our exhaustion of travelling 7 hour journey from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala
Terengganu. We had “nasi dagang” as our breakfast. A special dish that you can
only find in Terengganu! After finishing the finger-licking good breakfast, we
precede our journey to Kuala Besut Jetty. Although it take us 1 and half hour
to reach there, we could never been bored with the beautiful beaches and white sand
that accompanied us along the way.
11.30am
We arrived at the Kuala Besut Jetty with mixed feeling:
joyous, mysterious and enthusiastic . Everyone was so eager to reach Perhentian
Island with the imaginary ideas of how this little paradise would look like. Since
it was during school break, there were a lot of people going to Perhentian
Island as well. There, we met with Mr Mat, our chaperon to the island. The main transportation from the island to the
mainland is by boat. Some tips to make your stay smooth: be sure to pack up your
motion sickness meds, sunscreen, underwater camera and also hat. Remember 3 S
Slip, Slop & Slap!!! Slip on long sleeves, slop on some sunscreen, and slap
on a hat.

12.15 pm
In less than 1 hour, we already arrived at the fisherman
village that is situated in the Perhentian Kecil or Small Island. Although
still feeling dizzy and exhausted from the journey yesterday, but all of it disappeared
as soon as we set our foot on the island. From the jetty itself, you could see how
crystal clear the beach is! I bet you won’t believe your eyes..we either! Well,
it happens. Hehe

2.00pm
After check in to the chalet, now the most awaited part begans.
We were taken to 3 famous spot for snorkeling that is shark point, coral point
and turtle point. Since this is first time ever in our life to do snorkeling,
we were very thrilled to witness the breathtaking view of the underwater world.
The expressions of each and every one of us were priceless. Set aside your
fear, put on your goggle and take the first dive by your own signature moves.
If you are not a good swimmer let alone do not know how to swim, don’t be fret
about it. Leave it all to the life jacket! No worries.
Coloured fish swimming carelessly around you, stunning
artistic value of the corals, unidentified royal blue creature are views that
you could not experiences everyday. We were too engrossed in the underwater
world of wonder when the taxi driver call us up to move the the next
point. Regrettably, we do not have any
underwater camera to take the picture. Only later that day, we discover that
there are services to rent underwater camera. Ahhh, what a loss..

6.00 pm
We heed back to the chalet after we had enough with fish and
corals. Some of us faced some difficulties to build the confidence and
adjusting with the goggle at first but after series of gulping down the sea
water, it came naturally and we could enjoy the view wholeheartedly. *Clap*

8.00pm
The smoky barbeque awaits make us even hungrier. While
waiting for the food to be cooked (which we cook ourselves), we had the
opportunities to mingle with other visitors that came from another universities
and some families too. It feels so homey and we exchanged our experience as the
first-time snorkeling around the island with them.

10.00 pm
We take some time to feel the night breeze of Perhentian
Island before going to the bed. There’s only one fisherman village on this island.
With the capacity of less than 2000 peoples, this village are well occupied
with schools, clinics, mosque, community service centre make it not so much
difference from the mainland. After taking some photos, we get off to bed to
prepared for the next day.
