Facts 1: Location
Pehentian Island is located approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) off the northeastern coast of West Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, approximately 40 miles (64 km) south of the Thai border. This island is constituting of 2 island, Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil which situated next to each other with their own attraction. The the islands' only permanent inhabitants live in a small fishing village on Perhentian Kecil.
Facts 2: Language
Although situated in the region of Terengganu, the local here speaks Kelantanese just like the mainland, Besut. Besut lie at the border between Terengganu and Kelantan. so, the local here are more influenced by the language and the way of life of Kelantanese. Facts 3: Turtle conservation
The Perhentian Islands were once home to a significant green and hawksbill sea turtle nesting population. Now the islands receive only 300 nestings per year. Turtle beach is where hawksbill turtle come up to nest. in view of the reducing number of the seaturtle, a conservatory had been built. The conservatory located there then hatched the eggs and release the hatching after a few days in the hopes that some will survive to replenish the dwindling turtle population.

There are a lot of activities that you could do in Perhentian island.
